Chordoma

Chordoma is a tumor of cartilage tissue, of primary malignancy, represents the residues of a spinal cord, is characterized by invasive growth and is prone to metastasis.
According to localization, cranial and vertebral forms are distinguish.
Patients with cranial chordoma complain depending on the direction of tumor growth.

Differential diagnosis

– Chondrosarcoma – a malignant tumor of the cartilage structure;
– Chondroma – a slow-growing, benign tumor that develops from cartilage;
Surgery followed by radiation therapy is the method of choice for treatment of chordomas.
