Carcinoma

Pituitary adenocarcinoma is a malignant, infiltrative, fast-growing, low-grade tumor with metastasis to various structures of the body.

Treatment of carcinoma

The therapeutic management in patients with adenocarcinoma in each case is selected individually. Most often, as a result of the severity of neurological, visual and other disorders, as well as invasive growth in the adjacent, vital brain structures, surgical intervention (biopsy) is performed in order to take material for pathological examination (histology; immunohistochemistry). Further, patients are referred for radiotherapy.
