Mucocele

Mucocele is a saccular cyst of any paranasal sinus, formed as a result of obliteration of the nasal excretory duct and accumulation of mucous and hyaline secretions inside the sinuses, as well as elements of the epithelium desquamation.

When located within the sphenoid sinus, it can compress the parasellar structures.

Treatment consists of surgical removal.
